2017
The Cruise Ship Plot Twist
We met on a cruise ship while Maria was on her internship and Armando was in training. She noticed this quiet Italian guy eating alone and decided to say hi. Two weeks later our contracts ended — just a friendly wave, a Facebook add, and a story waiting to happen.
2018
The Unexpected Cabinmates
A year later, fate (and Facebook) struck again. Armando messaged Maria after seeing her post about joining his ship. We reconnected fast, worked nonstop, and somehow ended up moving in together after two weeks. Probably not what HR would recommend, but hey — it worked. Maria had promised to “focus on herself.” Apparently, “herself” came with an Italian accent.
2019
Long Distance and New Beginnings
When the contract ended, Maria went home to Canada and Armando returned to Italy. We stayed close through late-night calls until luck handed Armando a Canadian work visa. We reunited in Toronto, backpacked through Asia, and later moved to Australia — our first real home together and proof we made a great team.
2020
The Lockdown Chapter
Then the world hit pause. We flew back to Canada jobless and uncertain. Armando’s PR was still in process, so he lived on patience and optimism. With endless time, we started learning new skills and built our first small web design business. It was scary, but somehow, we turned chaos into creativity.
2021 - 2024
Building Our Dream (and Leo)
Those years were all about growth — long nights, creative projects, and Leo, our small dog with big opinions. Between work, walks, and laughter, we built a rhythm that felt right: imperfect, busy, but full of love and tiny wins that made every day special.
June 2024
The Beach Proposal (Kind Of)
Armando planned a romantic picnic at Centre Island. Perfect view, perfect ring… not-so-perfect location. We didn’t realize it was a nude beach until after the proposal. Between laughing, crying, and avoiding eye contact, Maria said yes — a proposal that was beautiful, hilarious, and completely us.
2025
The Home Chapter
After the engagement, we moved to Italy at the end of 2024 for a new adventure — warm days, pasta nights, and family time. By summer 2025, we were back in Toronto, where we bought our first home. Between unpacking boxes and decorating, it finally felt like ours.

Here’s to Forever
Now we’re saying “I do” in Sorrento, surrounded by everyone we love. From cruise ship to building a life across continents, it’s been a wild, wonderful ride — and it’s only the beginning.
